Creating Pop ups

I know what your thinking, "why would I want to create an annoying pop up?"  Well, there are actually a couple reasons you might want to use a popup window.  Although this cannot be done using a WebMedley function, there is a fairly simple way to create your own pop up windows in WebMedley.  This can make it possible for a visitor to click a link on your site, and not have to leave to view that page.  Another handy thing about pop ups, is you can specify the size of them.  This means you can have a small version of a picture which will load up quickly, and when you click on it a popup of a larger version will appear.  Learn how to create your own pop ups here.

Spyware

Q.) I noticed that I have unwanted pop ups, as well as some other strange things appearing on my web page that I haven't put there. What happened, do I have a virus?

A.) You don't have a virus, but you may have some spyware on your computer.  Spyware is a program that gets automatically installed on your computer from visiting a website.  This is similar to a pop up ad, except it will not go away unless you uninstall the program.  The best way to avoid this from happening is to get a program called spybot. This program will check your computer for any known spyware and eliminate it.  Download spybot for free.
