WebMedley Hints and Tips #24

Customizing Mailto Fields

When you click on an email link, you may notice that sometimes the subject line is already filled in for you.  Doing this is helpful when you want to have all email links go to the same email address (like help@website.com), but you want to differentiate between what they are about (like if some are complaints, and some are praise).  Simply telling the user what to put in the subject line would work, but that can't be depended on.  Making this happen automatically is a much better solution.  Find out how to customize the Subject line, CC field, BCC field, and even the body of an email here.

Q.) I dont want to create a Popup on my website, but I would like all my hyperlinks to open up a new full size window.  Is this possible?

A) Its actually easier than you would think.  There is a way to "trick" the WebMedley toolbar into doing this.  When creating a link in WebMedley, follow the address with target="blank".  That's target=<quotation mark>blank<quotation mark>... and that's it.  This will cause that website to open in a new window, and the visitor will not leave your website.
