The Lean, Green Anti-Formatting Machine
You are likely to have created or added to a WebMedley page at least once by pasting some content directly from MS Word. What you may or may not know is that although MS Word is a great and smart application, it can turn a WebMedley page into a formatting headache. This is because MS Word creates its own formatting code which automatically formats the text. When you paste that text into WebMedley, the formatting code comes with it. This makes it almost impossible to try to change that text without problems. Pasting into MS Notepad will help, but the folks here at Faith-and-Values.com have created a tool that will get absolutely all the formatting code out of your text. Get the new WebMedley Text Editor and learn how to use it here.
Q) I know the WebMedley toolbars will not work on my Macintosh, but can I still create, delete and rename pages in the Management Console with my Mac?
Unfortunately, every aspect of WebMedley will not operate correctly with Macintosh computers. To accomplish even the most miniscule tasks without risk of any unforeseen errors, you must be using a pc.
Q) I've been working on this Web page all morning. Now when I try to save, it gives me some Java code and won't let me save. What happened?
Two words...time out. We don't mean you need to take a time out, we mean your session timed out. WebMedley has a security feature which will log you off of WebMedley if you show no activity for 15 minutes or more. This feature will protect you if you share your computer and don't want others to be able to tamper with your Web site while you are away. To let our servers know you are still working, use the save button every 5-10 minutes. This will ensure you are never logged off and will never lose the work you have done.
