Hints and Tips - Training Refreshing

WebMedley is a very robust tool and there are a lot of things you can do with it. That is one of the reasons why every WebMedley account comes with a basic training session. We try and take you through the majority of WebMedley's features in a live phone training. For some of you, that may have happened rather recently. For others, it may have been a while. Regardless of how long it's been, all of us sometimes need a reminder. So, for those who need a quick refresher after a recent training, or for those who have stepped away for a while and would like aid in remembering how everything worked, we have placed a Training Refresher page on line to help with just that. Surf to www.webmedley.com/refresher.html for a review and walk through of most of the information covered in our basic WebMedley training.  Also, be sure to check out our other online resources at http://support.webmedley1.com/help.html.

Question of the Week - Browser Refreshing

Q.) My site does not seem to be updating after I publish it - how can I see the updates?

A.) You may be viewing a cached version of the site. Most Web browsers will store (or cache) the images they collect from various Web sites you visit. This allows them to pull the files for that page off your computer instead of downloading them over the internet. By using them out of your temporary internet files on your computer, the page loads much more quickly. However, if the page has changed since you last visited it - if you computer is displaying the image of the page from the last time you visited, and you won't realized the page has changed.

First try refreshing your screen in your browser (The 'F5' button on your keyboard will do this). This forces your browser to load up the page from the internet instead of from it's temporary cache. You should also be sure to periodically clear out your temporary Internet files. In Internet Explorer, go to Tools -> Internet Options. Then click the "Delete Files" button under the Temporary Internet Files heading. This deletes saved versions of web pages you have previously viewed. You may also consider clicking the "Clear History" button under the History heading. This deletes the list of web sites visited from the Explorer browser.

After refreshing the page, you should see the content you recently published. If not, try closing IE all together and after reopening it, try the steps above again. If this still doesn't work, you can get in touch with WebMedley tech support at support@webmedley.net.
