(Search Engines/Meta Tags)

How to maximize your exposure using search engines
Almost every Internet user has, at some point in time, used a search engine to find information on the World Wide Web. Search engines do not "magically" know about any website the moment it is created, however.  You need to let a search engine know you exist optimize your Web site for it so that people can always find you. Check out this week's Hints and Tips on better understanding how search engines work and how you can put them to work for you.

Question of the Week
Q.) " What do I do with the "Keyword Meta tag", and "Summary Meta Tag" in the advanced section of my WebMedley pages?"

A.) The Keyword Meta tag is a field that may or may not do you some good. This field allows you to insert some keywords that a search engine would use to search for your site. This method, however, is no longer used as a primary means of associating pages with a search request by most search engines. A Summary Meta Tag is what will appear under the link to your Web site when it is listed in an engine's search results. It should give a brief (one or two sentences) summary of the contents of that page.  Again, all Engines do not support this, but it can help explain what your Web site is about when someone finds you in a search.
